FAQ
Phone & Tablet Repair FAQ – Preston UK (Mail-In Service)
01. How does your repair service work?
It’s simple and risk-free:
Contact us (WhatsApp, email, or website form) with your device model and problem.
We’ll give you a fixed-price quote usually within minutes.
If you’re happy, we email you a free Royal Mail Tracked 24 pre-paid returns label (or a hermes/DPD label if you prefer).
Pack your device securely and drop it at any post office or collection point.
We repair it the same day we receive it (95% of repairs are completed within 24 hours).
We post it back to you fully insured with tracking – usually next-day delivery.
Payment only after the repair is done and tested (bank transfer or card over the phone).
02. Why choose you instead of Apple or a local high-street shop?
We’re typically 40–70% cheaper than Apple’s official out-of-warranty prices and significantly less than most high-street chains, while using the same genuine parts and lifetime warranty on most repairs. No appointment needed, no queueing, and we come to you via post – perfect if you’re busy or not local to Preston.
03. Is it safe to post my phone/tablet?
Yes – thousands of customers do it every month. We send it using Royal Mail Special Delivery or insured courier (covered up to £750 as standard – higher cover available). We’ve posted over 25,000 devices with virtually zero lost in over 8 years.
04. How long does the whole process take?
From the day you post it to getting it back repaired is usually 2–4 working days door-to-door.
05. Do you use genuine parts?
Yes – we only use original (OEM) screens, batteries, and parts taken from brand-new donor devices or direct from the same factories Apple uses. All parts come with a lifetime warranty (except physical damage or liquid damage after repair).
06. What should I do before sending my iPhone or iPad for repair?
Back up your device (iCloud or computer)
Turn off “Find My iPhone/iPad” (Settings → [Your Name] → Find My → turn off)
Remove any screen protector, case, and SIM card
If possible, sign out of iCloud completely
Pack it well (bubble wrap is perfect) – we can send you a free padded envelope if needed
07. What does Apple’s official repair or AppleCare+ actually cover?
Apple’s standard out-of-warranty prices are very high (example Dec 2025 prices):
iPhone 15 Pro Max screen £379
iPhone 15 Pro Max battery £119
iPhone 15 Pro Max back glass £199–£549
AppleCare+ reduces this but still costs £149–£199 up front for two years and you still pay £79–£99 excess per claim.
Our prices for the same genuine parts are usually £100–£200 less per repair with no excess and lifetime warranty.
08. How do I protect my device after it’s repaired?
We always recommend:
A good quality tempered glass screen protector
A sturdy case (we sell Spigen, OtterBox, Tech21 etc. at cost price)
Keep “Find My” turned on
Avoid third-party cheap chargers – they can damage the battery
09. What is Apple’s “Express Replacement Service”?
If you have AppleCare+, Apple can courier you a replacement phone and you send yours back (you’re charged £79–£99 + temporarily authorise the full retail price on your card until they receive the old one). It’s convenient but still expensive and only available with AppleCare+.
Our mail-in service is usually faster and far cheaper for the 90% of customers who don’t have AppleCare+.
A: Absolutely – Samsung Galaxy S & A series, Google Pixel, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Huawei, iPads, Galaxy Tabs – pretty much everything.
10. What if my device is not repairable or too expensive to fix?
No problem – we’ll return it free of charge and can offer you a fair price if you’d like to sell it to us for parts.
11. Do you offer any warranty?
Yes – lifetime warranty on screens and most parts, 12 months minimum on everything else (except liquid or physical damage after repair).
